Elizabeth Cowley, KDØKQX is appointed as the new Public Information Officer (PIO). She is a very welcome addition to the Iowa section leadership team!
The Des Moines Hamfest was a fantastic event with lots of equipment on display, including classic Collins radio gear. Many items found great new homes! We had an impressive turnout for the official ARRL Forum, where I enjoyed meeting representatives and members from many clubs across the state.
The Story County ARC sponsored a Parks on the Air (POTA) gathering a few weeks ago. There is tremendous interest in POTA right now across Iowa — it is an outstanding way to boost operating activity and bring new excitement to your local club.
🎖️ 75 Years of ARRL Affiliation Milestones
I’ve had the distinct privilege of presenting the Cedar Valley ARC (WØGQ) and the Northeast Iowa Amateur Radio Association (WØMG) with official ARRL plaques recognizing 75 years of continuous ARRL club affiliation! This is an extraordinary milestone for two historic clubs. Congratulations to all past and current members!
If your club is preparing to be active for upcoming ARRL Field Day operations, be sure to download the official Field Day guide from ARRL HQ. It is an invaluable resource for securing local news media attention and organizing public demonstrations.
73s,
Barry, WØIY
Iowa Section Manager
